Plumbline writes these guides from PUB and government sources and published Singapore price data; each claim links to where it comes from.
These are published rates, read from eight Singapore plumbing firms’ own websites on 27 August 2026 and re-checked on 25 September 2026 (source). They are ranges for comparison, not quotes.

Fees on top
- Transport and minimum fees. One firm publishes a S$30 transport fee, a plumbing fee from S$50 and S$20 per hardware-store run. Others include transport or publish no call-out fee.
- After-hours surcharges. One firm publishes about +S$50 on weekday evenings (5pm to 10pm), +S$80 to S$100 from 10pm to 8am, and more on weekends and public holidays. Another lists S$150 to S$350 for an urgent after-hours call.
Licensed work costs what it costs
Regulated water service and sanitary plumbing work must be done by a PUB Licensed Plumber (PUB). Only three of the eight firms in the comparison published a licence number on their website. Ask for it, and check it on PUB’s online search.
Check a quote in three questions
- Is that the total? Transport, minimum fee, parts, GST, after-hours.
- Hand or machine, repair or replace? The method changes the price more than anything.
- Can I have it in writing? A WhatsApp message with the agreed total is enough.
Estimate your job or request a plumber.
Want a plumber to sort it?
A plumber who covers your area calls you back with a price.
Request received.
A plumber who covers your area will call you on the number you gave. If water is flooding, turn off the main stop valve beside your water meter while you wait.
More questions
Do plumbers charge a call-out fee?
Some do. One published rate list has a S$30 transport fee and a minimum plumbing fee from S$50; others publish no call-out fee or include transport in their rates.
Why do quotes for the same job differ so much?
Method (hand or machine clearing), depth of the problem, whether parts are supplied, and the time of day. Compare totals, not headline prices.
How do I avoid being overcharged?
Get the total in writing before work starts, ask for parts and labour to be shown separately, and keep the receipt. Disputes can go to CASE, the Consumers Association of Singapore.
